Our Values

Pride Furniture is built on practical design, careful workmanship and timber furniture made to last.

Practical Design

Furniture should suit the home, the timber and the way it will be used. Don works through the details so each piece feels considered, useful and properly resolved.

Careful Workmanship

Every piece is built with a hands-on workshop approach, shaped around quality materials, strong construction and a finish made to last.

Made With Purpose

Pride Furniture creates custom timber furniture, cabinetry and one-off pieces for people who want something personal, practical and made with care.

Donald Straka is one of Australia’s top furniture makers, known for his flawless craftsmanship and commitment to quality. A self-taught craftsman, he transformed a local factory in Daylesford into a creative timber workshop, where he pushes the boundaries of traditional furniture-making.

Versatile in style, Donald creates everything from Art Deco to modern pieces, always grounded in contemporary craftsmanship. His greatest satisfaction comes from delivering handmade, high-quality furniture that exceeds customer expectations.

For Donald, furniture is an artwork. Each piece is individually crafted with handpicked timber, ensuring no mass production—just skilled artisans shaping every detail. Based in country Victoria, Donald is deeply immersed in the craft he loves, while balancing life as a dedicated father and husband.

Donalds son, Luka’s passion for working with his hands was evident from an early age, and in 2021, he officially joined the family business, working alongside his father in all aspects of the manufacturing and finishing process. Luka brings his own unique perspective to the workshop. His design style leans toward clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic—simple yet refined, with an emphasis on form and function.
