These simple care tips will help protect the finish, reduce avoidable damage and keep your furniture looking its best for years.
Every piece is different, so always follow the specific advice given for your furniture, timber species and finish. If you are unsure, contact Don before using strong cleaners, oils or repair products.
Use a soft, dry cloth for regular dusting. For light marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry the surface straight away.
Avoid soaking timber surfaces or leaving moisture sitting on the finish. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, abrasive pads, silicone-heavy sprays or strong solvents unless you have been told they are suitable for your specific finish.
Use coasters, placemats and felt pads where needed, especially on dining tables, vanities, desks and bedside pieces. Hot mugs, wet glasses, plant pots and cleaning bottles can leave marks if they sit directly on the timber surface.
Avoid dragging heavy or sharp objects across the furniture. Lift items where possible, and keep timber pieces away from harsh direct sunlight, heaters and fireplaces where practical.
