Completed in 2023, these custom bedside tables were handcrafted as a matching pair from solid Messmate timber. They were designed for long-term strength, everyday bedroom use and the natural character of Messmate.
Rather than using veneer or lightweight cabinet construction, the bedside tables were built from solid timber throughout, giving each piece weight, durability and a genuine handcrafted feel. Messmate brings warmth, grain movement and individual character, while the clean proportions keep the pair practical beside a bed.
The drawers combine traditional dovetail joinery with smooth soft-close runners. These details matter in bedside furniture used every day: the drawers need to open cleanly, hold their shape and continue to feel solid over time.
