Completed in 2024, these custom Messmate doors were handcrafted from solid timber for the front entry and internal areas of the home. Rather than using standard off-the-shelf doors, each piece was made to bring natural warmth, distinctive grain and a consistent timber detail throughout the space.
Messmate was selected for its natural variation, warm colouring and strong visual character. Each door has its own individual grain pattern while still working as part of a cohesive architectural interior.
The project included both front and internal doors, connecting different areas of the home through a shared material and carefully considered detailing. Solid timber construction gives the doors a substantial feel, while the clean lines and black hardware keep the finished result refined and practical.
This work complements the wider custom joinery completed throughout the home and shows how purpose-built timber elements can bring consistency, character and lasting quality to an architectural fit-out.
